Tsuchiya's early works utilized digital technology to re-examine the question of 'where am I?' at the dawn of the internet. A characteristic of his work was the frequent use of systematic collages. However, upon realizing that a layering of time was inherent in these systems, he is currently interested in creating works that internalize time.

土屋の初期作品は、インターネット黎明期における『自分はどこにいるのか』という問いを再検証するために、デジタル技術を活用したものでした。彼の作品の特徴として、法則性を持ったコラージュが多用されていたことが挙げられます。そうした法則性の中に時間の積層が内在していることに気付いたことから、現在彼は、時間を内在化させた作品を制作することに関心を向けています。
